I think in this case somebody with medical knowledge is required and I wonder if the Ombudsperson will be of any help. As it is, the hospital in question has offered a small sum as compensation, which they only do because they are such nice people - not that they did anything wrong - and in return the person in question has to sign a form stating that no further claims will be made, and I smell a rat.
Why would the hospital pay voluntarily (aus Kulanz) when they did nothing wrong, and why are they trying to make somebody sign they will have no further claims - again, if they did nothing wrong?
So somebody needs to get a look at the files and that should be a lawyer, since costs for further treatment resulting from malpractice MIGHT be very high.
