Buying advice-Shoes

Do these shoes look like they are for a woman? Actually they are but I was thinking they could also be worn by a man?

Unisex, in my opinion. Genderneutral.

I think they look like men's shoes, but a woman could wear them too.

That's what I would have said. Definitely more masculine than feminin.

Lookwise neutral, critical factor is the fit.

Personally it drives me just short of mad that so many female versions of sports gear are highlighted with adult shades of pink.

Re: Buying advice-Shoes

Merrel do quite a wide range of shoes of this type, in both male and female versions. The main obvious difference is the colour range, but in addition the shape will be different for the same size, e.g. a ladies' size 40 will generally be narrower than a mens' size 40.

But style-wise, if it fits, wear it. They are pretty much gender-neutral, barring any particular colour-preference. I've had a couple of pairs of this type - current ones are black with grey/white straps and laces (and in fact are identical to the ones you pictured, colour apart) , previous ones were mainly a garish yellow.

Amen to that! Thank god for the other option -- aqua/turquoise. I don't do pink.

Re: Buying advice-Shoes

Do you intend to wear them for hill walking or other outdoor activity? If so then that's fine, they are unisex.

Or. Are you geek and will wear them to the office with the laces tied too tightly and suit trousers? That's never cool.

-- Why do geeks/nerds nearly always wear outdoor gear - to the office?

Last edited by John_H; 07.01.2015 at 14:40. Reason: added trousers

So they can, at any time, simply grab their latest gadget and run away.

No. No geek. I wear them with blue jeans in an elderly person's home.
