Famigros - is it worth it?

Hi EF
Did a quick search for Famigros and nothing jumps out.

Anyone joined up to this Migros family program?
Is it worth it in your opinion?
We have 2 children, almost 5 and almost 2.

TIA

Re: Famigros - is it worth it?

Why the analysis? It is a club card for people with families. All it means is that things that you'll get discounts/extra points and stuff that are family oriented. Try it. If it benefits you great. If not, what's the problem?

Re: Famigros - is it worth it?

Not so much analysis... I've been members of these types of benefit programs before and the offers are not always so relevant. Just enquiring with the EF masses.

If anyone is a member and can recommend me then apparently there's sonething in it for you .....

My wife seems to think it is, always happy to receive the money vouchers.

If you shop in Migros and have kids it's worth having. The vouchers are nice to get and they send freebies and stuff specific to your family situation.

Re: Famigros - is it worth it?

It's free, so it's worth it.

Having said that, I don't think I've ever used a Famigros (as opposed to "normal" Cumulus) coupon/offer, but then again, I hardly ever shop at Migros. Except for the reason I got the card in the first place: skiing. With the Famigros card, you get heavily discounted ski rental for the season at Migros Sport XX (great for kids, no point in buying skis, boots and poles for them when they're growing as fast as they do), and you can sign up for the Famigros Ski Days, which are the best skiing bargains ever: all-day lift pass for every member of the family (2 adults and up to 5 children), lunch for everyone, a slalom ski race with medals for every child, and a surprise gift for the family -- all for CHF 85. Total, not each. There's a Ski Day pretty much every Sunday throughout the season, at a different resort each time. Great deal, which would be even better if there were any snow on the slopes this year.

Re: Famigros - is it worth it?

At least they don't seem to need to scan the card on both sides, now - when they needed to do that, it was guaranteed that one of the bar codes wouldn't read.

Why is it necessary? Surely with the normal card they can analyse if child related products are being bought and send relevant offers. I thought taht was one of the whole reasons for the loyalty cards from the shop's viewpoint.
