I'm about to embark on the academic job hunt again, and need to polish up a couple of things (like my CV, online profile etc).

I have realised that I really need to join the masses and add a photo to my professional online profile, but the thought horrifies me!

I hate getting my photo taken at the best of times, but don't think that I can DIY to a sufficient standard....And my passport photo makes me look like a criminal.

How much do professionals usually charge for this sort of thing (I'm based in Fribourg)?
Does anyone do it as a hobby around here and fancies a bit of a challenge?

I did my own CV photo at home using the self-timer on my camera. All you need is decent lighting, a neutral background, and a smile. How soon do you need it?

Might brave another go at home (full clothed of course....well at least from the shoulders up )

I think half the problem is that I have always thought professional headshots to be rather cheesy so always disliked/cringed at any of myself.
