Urban/Town Planning Master's Degree?

Does anybody know if there are any universities in Switzerland, or the EU for that matter (other than in the UK), that offers a master's degree in urban/town planning taught in English?

99% certain that would be no. Not surprising as you exclude the only English speaking country in the EU from your search.

You might check the Geography departments at ETH and the University of Zurich. However, it's doubtful that you'd find them teaching in English. My brother-in-law is a planner here in Switzerland and the job requires German, Italian, French and English to be spoken fluently.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I know someone very well that has one (Reading University) and it served her well in switching to a different industry. Note many of the regs are country specific.

Re: Urban/Town Planning Master's Degree?

You may want to look at universities in the Netherlands - at the Masters level, most of the programmes are taught in English. I found programmes at Utrecht, Amsterdam, Saxion, ITC (if you a prefer GIS approach in spatial planning) through a google search.

I know someone who did an English-taught MSc (not urban related) in the Flemish/Dutch part of Belgium so that could be another country to look at.
Good luck!
