| | Swiss Customs clearance, DHL
I purchased a small item from Amazon.de for 18euros plus 10 euros for dhl delivery.
I am tracking the item and I cant believe that it has been stuck and awaiting customs clearance for 5 days.
It this a DHL problems or Swiss costoms?

Just be grateful that DHL aren't living up to their name, and lost it.

If the seller did not correctly complete the customs declaration, https://www.google.com/search?site=i...bm=isch&q=CN22
then they will need to open it and establish the value. There might be extra charges if this happens.

Amazon had setup its own delivery chain to Switzerland where you pre pay tax and everything. It is super simple, cheap, and speedy. No more silly customs fees and delays.
Individual Amazon Market Place dealers still use to old route, with all fees, hooks, and strings attached.

As it's with DHL expect a rather large paperwork and customs fee.

You purchased your product on Amazon when the distribution center work force was on labor stike because of the ongoing persistent, horrendous work condition at Amazon for years. Eventually this was the major reason for the delays. http://www.golem.de/news/onlinehande...06-114496.html
Since I know about the tremendous misuse of anyhow too under-paid and overly harassed work force by Amazon, Amzon is on my black list, for sure. http://www.zdf.de/volle-kanne/arbeit...-35472768.html
And consequently, I conclude that the tracking list has been faked by Amazon to give you the impression that it is not their fault ...

Ordering direct from amazon de, fr or co.uk is a refreshingly pleasant experience regarding customs. It always works out cheaper than buying it in their respective countries which never fails to make me feel smug.

DHL | Contact DHL Express Management | English http://www.dhl.ch/en/contact_center/...anagement.html
If this is the case, then Chris Hillis (CEO DHL Express Switzerland) and Mariana Patrikis (Managing Director Customer Service Switzerland) want to hear your complaints first-hand.

However the people at DHL basel cannot see the shipping label and the price so the package (bicycle tire) is stuck in customs. Now I must email them my amazon receipt...
Not the first time DHL has screwed up...

No wonder, when your bicycle tires looks like viagra that you will wait for an indefinite time and will indeed have to pay additional customs charges : http://www.srf.ch/play/tv/10vor10/vi...8-0543905a4fc7 | The following 2 users would like to thank Sublime for this useful post: | |

Last update:
The package was finally supposed to be delivered by a bicycle courier today.
The courier had a flat tyre on the way to the OP's house and used the tyre in the package.
He then offered the OP his old, punctured tyre.
How to complain about this?

I was just hit with DHLs fees and charges amounting to a total of 170 CHF (this amount NOT including the 8% Mwst).

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I have a related question:
I want to order something from a swiss eshop which is being posted outside Switzerland - the shop posts using DHL and the value of the products is around 110 chf. Will it be stopped at the customs and get extra charges?
