Vine Weevils

Hi There. I have an lot of Vine weevils on my Bay tree. It is in a pot on the terrace and is being thoroughly eaten. Please can someone post what I need to do to get rid of these and if a product is required...what is the name in German.
Thanks

Re: Vine Weevils

You need either nematodes or thiocloprid.

I tried the nematodes, I think they worked; previously I did the thiocloprid and that definitely did.

Re: Vine Weevils

To reduce the number of adult beetles - that lay the eggs that produce the larva that eat the plants roots, at night, when the beetles are active, shake the trunk of the tree over an upturned umbrella to catch the beetles and then squash them.

And wear hard soles - you can stamp on the little buggers in trainers and they just laugh and walk off
