| | looking for parcel services
Dear All,
I was googeling for parcel services in Zurich, but unable to locate the exact info that I require.
If any of you know or have used any parcel services before to send a parcel to other country, then could you please share the information with me?
I want to send a parcel, to India which includes mainly decorative pieces and, is no more than 15 kg in weight.
Any help/ guidance is appreciated.
Thanks.

Aside from courier services like DHL, Fedex etc. why not try the Post Office? Probably be a lot cheaper, and things have been known to actually arrive Depends on how urgent it is.

Thanks. | | | | | I have sent international parcels before but not more than a couple of kgs in weight. I used Swiss-Post and was quite satisfied. You might try visiting your local post office for more info.
cheers.

If it's only one parcel use the Post or DHL. If you want an account to send many, try DPD

Thanks. | | | | | I just sent a 15 KG parcel from Zurich to Bangalore using Swiss Post. You need to complete a form online and print. Take this with your parcel to the nearest post.
Points to Remember: - Use 'Others' if these are used goods and not 'Merchandise' while self-declaring online.
- Declare prices carefully. If the price is more than 10000 INR, you will have to visit the Customs attached with post office in India(usually state capital) to pay tax/bribe.
- Keep a copy of invoice(highlight items part of parcel) with the parcel. All parcels are opened for inspection(regardless of declaration). At times Custom releases parcel when they see the invoice and total cost within permissible limits.
- Expect a couple of unique items to be missing when you receive the parcel. If you complain, they will ask you to prove it was part of parcel. They do not accept self-declaration
- Usually the parcel reaches the state capital in 10 days. Custom may hold up your parcel indefinately unless you visit personally.
