Aluminium foil stuck to the Oven Plate

Hi All,
I recently prepared some chicken breast in oven. I lined the oven tray with Aluminum foil and unfortunately some it stuck to the tray and now i am not able to remove it.
Did any one else also faced the same situation,if yes, how did you manged to clean the tray.
Thanks in advance

Re: Aluminium foil stuck to the Oven Plate

Put some water in it and leave it over night. If not working, pour boiling water on it in the morning.

I'd cover the bottom of the tray with milk and leave overnight. In the morning, see if it's loosened the foil. If not, add a squirt of washing up liquid to the milk and heat the tray on the hob whilst rubbing the foil with a wooden spoon to loosen.

Definitely second the washing up liquid option! Have you got a silicone spatula? That might be an idea - no chance of scratching/marking anything.

Re: Aluminium foil stuck to the Oven Plate

Hi Everyone thanks for the suggestions. What i did is that i sprinkled some salt over the areas where the grease and aluminum foil was stuck. Poured some hot water and rested it for some time. And within few hours the aluminum foil was removed. Thanks everyone for your responses. I would like to thank everyone of you like other members do. but i think i am not allowed to as i cant find any link to thank .

Glad you got it sorted.

I forgot to mention, since living in rented places, I've switched to using baking paper in the oven. It saves on washing up and doesn't stick to the food or baking trays, so when you move house the inside of the oven looks like new.

Backpapier -- Coop, Migros, everywhere else that sells common household stuff.

You can buy it in a roll, or pre-cut into baking tray-sized pieces.

Re: Aluminium foil stuck to the Oven Plate

Another +1 for the baking paper. I use it all the time. I prefer the roll over the pre-cut as I use smaller trays to cook a lot of things in so I can waste less of the paper by deciding what size I want.

Re: Aluminium foil stuck to the Oven Plate

You can also get a reusable black colour "paper" that is plastic from Migros. I like it in that it stays flat unlike the real paper you show above. It will be in the same area as the paper. You just wash it after each use.

If I am close to a Migros this afternoon I will take a photo to post.

Re: Aluminium foil stuck to the Oven Plate

Looks like your question has been well answered Raim.

I make a Tiropita or Spanakopita the size of the baking tray most weeks, so use the paper to completely line the tray and rarely have to clean the tray afterwards. OH also uses it when he's making pizzas or baking fish.
