Why not ?
Do you mean why am I not prepared to spend that amount of money? Well, I'm still a grounded girl, still with the values I had when growing up, and these have remained with me even after living in a country that has such a large percentage of well-off people. Many people here (probably more so the non-Swiss) like to flaunt this image of richness, it goes with the territory wich is Switzerland. Now please don't get me wrong, I'm believe in the freedom to show who you are, whatever that may be, but on a completely personal note, I can think of many other ways of spending that amount of money, whether it be on my family or toward helping a good cause I believe in. Anyway, I'm sure there must be some bag manufacturer out there who makes a good product without the hefty price. And again, don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for something at CHF 40.- either, I would willingly go to a few hundred francs if I find something that is well made and stands out. Just my personal 2 centimes!

Thank you dear CH_Me, very sweet of you to offer the link which I have seen before, however even if they carry very many known bag brands (and some I have never heard of before!) sadly these are all handbags and the odd tote, not really for putting a computer and files in for use in my professional activity.

I've always been a fan of colcasac. http://www.colcasac.com/shoulder-bag/

I bought one last time I was in the US. They state they have Int'l shipping but it comes at a cost but might still be worth it if you fancy this type of bag

I see a few when I search for "laptoptasche". I use a Michael Cors "Jetset" for my carrying my 15 inch laptop and files to and from work. It is a really strong bag that can take a heavy weight. Fits a good amount of shopping too.

Colcasac looks ok but TBH not chic enough for what I need it for, plus it looks like after a day of wandering from meeting to meeting my shoulders would drop off. The search goes on!

My god...am I really that hard to please!! lol

Re: Swiss websites for Online Deals?

I'm going to let you all in on big "secret". The absolute lowest-price online shop with a selection of products rivalling amazon.com is www.aliexpress.com

It is literally a clearing house for thousands of businesses in China selling everything from A-Z. And the prices are unbelievably low. And the upside: due to a free-trade agreement signed between Switzerland and China, all goods are shipped directly to your mailbox, with ZERO customs duty. None. Prices include shipping. I have bought everything from an electric guitar to matcha tea to garden equipment there over the past 2 years, and with few exceptions, with great quality. You can also see reviews and supplier ratings for everything before you buy.

You're welcome.

This is obviously not a specifically Swiss website but have you had a look on Etsy? Most of the items are handmade from scratch, some even customise it for you. Yes, you'll spend at least 200 francs for a nice leather laptop bag but a) it would be unique, b) you would be supporting a small business (depending on where you shop) rather than a large corporation. Shipping and customs will probably also make you pause but again, it's something unique that you will enjoy for years.

Or there's the Bag of Holding from thinkgeek.com:

They have various others, for geeky stuff (and yet girly sometimes).

Re: Swiss websites for Online Deals?

I've been wondering if there are any money saving websites in Switzerland. I guess they're similar to deal sites but more focused on reducing daily costs etc. I'm currently in the UK and I use sites like moneysavingexpert.com and Hotukdeals.com all the time. Does anyone know if there's an equivalent?
