Aldi offering USB memory stick 8 GB at CHF39.90

TEVION USB Memory Stick 8 GB
CHF39.90

Get it from the cashier at Aldi (they're going fast!). No need to hunt high and low for it at the electronics section.

I picked up a "Chips and More" memory stick from MediaMarkt a week or so ago for CHF 39. Even says "Hopp Schwiiz!" on it. So, this isn't an amazing deal.

With 8GB too?

The other half seems to think it's a worthwhile deal - enough to prod the missus to hop over to the store this morning. Scheez!

You might find the 8 GB stick does not work well on your computer. I have a mini Acer and my 8 GB stick will not work on it at all. But it works with a 1 GB stick. On my Mac, the 8 GB stick is slow but the 1 GB stick is fast.

I would personally pay an extra 10-20CHF for a branded product (Sandisk, Kingston, Crucial etc..) since the failure rate amongst these generic memory sticks is unacceptably high.

http://en.toppreise.ch/index.php?k3=2006&manu=&o=pa

I would start somewhere around 47 francs with

OCZ Rally2 USB 2.0 Dual Channel, 8.0GB (OCZUSBR2DC-8GB)
8.0GB, read: 28MB/s, write: 15MB/s, USB 2.0, black, aluminium chassis
