Re: Tutti.ch better than Ricardo.ch?

had a nightmare-that-never-ends experience with Ricardo.ch. For just 10 bucks, yes, 3.6 and 6.4, which I paid, I've been harassed for a whole month when I was overseas on vacation. No matter what you do, repeated emails, on-line chat ( name removed), they just keep sending me the same IOU emails (Facture) all the while I was traveling.

even today, I still don't know how I ended up with being charged with these 3.6 and 6.4CHF: I don't remember at all I chose some for-fee option. I thought naively that the service is like craiglist for free, no, nothing but free, just troubles. Fair enough that they charge you for a service, but the things is as I didn't want reveal my real email, I created a one off account and never went back to check my inbox. 2 months later I got an email while I was traveling, with a 10CHF of fine. I paid the 3.6 and 6.4 and spoke (I still don't know how I got to chat on line with name removed) to one of them and she agreed to waive me the late payment fee. thought that was water under the bridge. No, I've received at least a dozen of emails asking me to pay them 20CHF in the following month....

Please note, apart from an obscene 1CHF/minute customer service line (the rate a swiss porno phone charges people), there's no other way for you to contact them. the "contact us" button gave me an online leave-message option, to which they don't reply at all. So they kept emailing me with invoices.

there are many other options online out there, so please do yourself a favor by not using them.

Sounds to me like you brought it on yourself. Did you really create a new account just for that complaint?

Yes it is. But may be it is no a coincidence that I am from Zurich where the HQ of Tamedia is?

PS: I share Corbets' and k_and_e's view.

FTFY.

Here's the German version:
https://theme.zdassets.com/theme_ass...238263f752.pdf

And the French, since you're in Geneva:
https://theme.zdassets.com/theme_ass...466f9fd380.pdf

Too bad you didn't know about EF beforehand. Reading this thread could have saved you trouble too:
Selling on Ricardo.ch - be aware of the fees

PS - The fact you're traveling means nothing. You're expected to make arrangements to pay bills when they are due. Your landlord isn't going to cut you slack just because you're sitting on a beach sipping cocktails when the rent is due, right?

At least it's a 10 Franc lesson not more expensive.

Re: Tutti.ch better than Ricardo.ch?

It is interesting that managing to navigate the website and set up an account and place an ad was possible but not read the terms and conditions.

Also, as far as I know you must provide Ricardo with a physical address and they mail your password by post. At least this is how it worked when I created my account a long time ago. Perhaps this system has changed but you still need to provide your address details.

Ricardo has customer service via email.

Grow up. ASwiss is one of the most helpful members of this Forum and most of his time here is spent helping people.

Face facts - you signed up for something, didn't read the terms, and didn't use a valid email so they could contact you. Pay what you need to pay, and read all the terms and anything they've sent you, to be sure you won't owe anything else. And stop using the service of course, if you don't want further charges.

Next time you sign up for something that could involve charges (which in Switzerland is probably everything), be sure to use an email you actually check.

Re: Tutti.ch better than Ricardo.ch?

All my experience with auction based platforms have been bad. There always seems to come a bidder at the end that will ensure you don't get a bargain. I am sure there are some out there but I don't have time for it so I use Tutti / liked gratisinserat better but tutti bought them out of business

I thought it was Anibis that bought Gratisi inserate. I have sold very little on Anibis which is definitely not as popular as Tutti in the German speaking parts of Switzerland.

Even on sites like Tutti you will get time wasters and it can take a long time to sell an item.

Something I've noticed, but not really understood is that many Tutti sellers insist on pick-up for even small items that would easily post.
Its not easy shipping car rims!

Re: Tutti.ch better than Ricardo.ch?

I've tried to use Tutti / Anibis twice to sell - never again, both times I was flooded by time wasters who never showed up.

I've bought from there once - but most of the times I've contacted people, the item was long gone and they just forgot about it.

Ricardo has some issues and the support if a seller/buyer turns out to be an idiot/scammer is rubbish, but on the whole it seems to work OK.
