What is this little space for ?

Noticed this when changing the bin bag just now.. A little shelf.
It's not a drawer, if pulled it pops off and falls off it's supports. It's too small for anything meaningful, even if you did put something in there, you couldn't easily get it out..

The photos don't quite appear in order : One without shelf to show the supports it sits on. The shelf sitting on the base, then the other two with glasses hand to show how small it is.

So what's it for? Ideas?

You can store your rolls of bin bags and a dustpan and brush on top of it.

Perhaps its the secret eye wear storage zone? It could be a drip tray under the sink or somewhere to stash your Zürisacks or weed.

Re: What is this little space for ?

I've got that space and shelf, too. But my space is bigger, 13cm (just checked)

I took a cardboard box and cut it down to slide into the space. Now I put the paper recycling there. (without the box the papers would fall down in the back)

It's too small for our little dustpan thingy.. Rolls of bin bags indeed fit, but they slide down to the back and the shelf must be removed to to get them out, because hand/arm doesn't fit in.

I thought maybe, but it's maybe 4cm above the bin, it doesn't touch the bin, maybe it could be badly installed i guess since the bin has no other lid.

Hmmm it goes back a good 60-70cm so would need modification.. and we have already a paper bin!

So far I'm going with a lid that's badly installed.. if it was lower then it would act as a lid and may also serve purpose as a shelf.

Re: What is this little space for ?

maybe? maybe?! what i say is law!

get it fitted probably.

does it have mullex written on it?

it's a bin lid that also doubles as a (light load) shelf.

Gold star.. It's exactly that.. Except without a useful space above like in the picture..

I'll use to store lasagne from now on, safe in the knowledge that the bin is also covered.
