| | Where can I buy comics?
Hi folks,
Gaming stuff and figurines are fine, but i'm looking for a comic shop where i can find stuff by Gaiman and Moore. second hand comics shops would also do. preferably not the translated version... |

There is comic store in Wiedikon/city called Analph. There a comic and Manga store just up the road from Wiedikon Station as well (From Wiedikon towards Goldbrunnen, on the left about 200m)

Theres another one just off Langstrasse, it sells your typical marvel comics but does some manga and rare comics.
The only problem is I'm not 100% sure of the name. I'm pretty sure its either Brauerstrasse or Dienerstrasse though. I'm leaning more towards Dienerstrasse though. Those streets are right beside each other. Sorry I cant give you more details.

Analph is probably the best place in Zurich, I've also found the guys at blackdog.de very helpful in the past.

Analph is good, but be warned: Just because they have a book in their online catalogue doesn't mean that it's available. A few years ago I searched for some really obscure comics and was excited to find many of them in their catalogue. I then went to the shop and was told that they'll be available "in three months, a year or maybe never". Turns out that they add to their database whatever they've managed to organise and sell once in the past.

I second Analph as well - they get some of the English comics (should easily have the Gaiman/Moore/and others), as well as Manga and European! As for the website, if you look clearly, it will say wether it is available or only ordered.
There is also another shop, where I used to go very often. In Froschgasse, in the Niederdorf. There you can find an amazing selection of French comics, for anybody who has mastered the language. There are German and English comics as well, although the English part is very small, especially compared to Analph.
As well, I guess there is a quarterly Sale/Auction going on in the Volkshaus, http://www.comic.ch/boerse/index.htm
Good luck!

i was a big comic fan in the 90's, and read mostly DC comics (sandman, hellblazer, shade, preacher, dark knight), some marvel (X-men, spiderman, daredevil) and some manga (akira, crying freeman), but mostly to pass the time until the next issue of sandman came out. after that series ended in 97, i only check in now and then to see if there's anything interesting. in recent years, i've become quite a fan of Moore's America's Best Comics (ABC) label. really looking forward catching up ...
i read Lost Girls once, but was rather confused by many of the dreamlike sequences accompanied by asides, so i cant really comment :P. it contained many references to Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan (I've only read Alice ) i gotta go read the other 2 novels, and then read Lost Girls again heh...
thanks for the Volkshaus tip, looks interesting, i'll be sure to check it out!
