Until recently, that would have been only 8 GBP, and before that, even less.

It's even cheaper in Ukraine, unfortunately for the Ukrainians they also earn very little and workers at McD lead a poor life.

Also we go less to McD and buy more food in the supermarket since this in disregard to many other countries is mostly of high quality. And that might be one of the reasons we have less obese children and adults then England has.

And why would you go to McD if you are on a holiday here? Order a nice local treat somewhere for the same price.

You' re here as a tourist? Keep smiling and enjoy the experience
Oh and McDonalds is not typical Swiss food. You can get Swiss take away for less than 19.00 franks.

Re: Shopping help

Let's not dig deeper? No, I absolutely think we should dig deeper. Why on earth would you go on vacation somewhere where you have to eat at McDonald's and cannot afford an adapter?

Do you have any comprehension of how many millions and millions of relatively smart people CHOOSE NOT TO GO ON VACATION IN SWITZERLAND because it is freakin' expensive? But you roll on up and want an electronic device for less than a bottle of water?

The mind boggles.

I kind of like him/her. I never studied countries before I went. And if worst comes to worst he/she is out of here within 2 hours, the advantage of a tiny country

Re: Shopping help

Well, I don't like it. I have numerous family members and friends who would love to come and visit but the numbers just don't work. Even though they would be able to stay with us for free, they cannot possibly afford the transport, the air fare, the restaurant meals and all of the other ancillary expenses that crop up during a vacation.

But this guy from Cyprus just rolls on up and carts the fam and can't charge his iphone because he didn't realise that an adapter costs more than 3 francs. I'm not having it, mate. It pisses me off.

Whatever. Have a good night.

Re: Shopping help

Not Fr. 3, but Fr. 5, here, perhaps. It is a second-hand shop, with several buckets of cables, and you can sort through them and might be lucky to find what you need.

This one is near the bus stop called "Manesseplatz".

Here's another one, with less material but more knowledgable staff:

This one is near the tram and bus stop called "Morgenthal".

You could ask at your hotel reception if someone has a charger you could use for an hour or so to charge up your phone.

Bit of charm goes a long way.
