International Import duties

How is it that companies like Ali Express ( China ) can send things here with no delivery charges and no Swiss import duties.( for the buyer )

So how come amazon.de 'cannot deliver to Switzerland' the same cheap chinese crap?

I also find it surprising, the 'ease' with which aliexpress delivers.

Many / large palms have been greased, i suspect.

Re: International Import duties

I ordered a poster pic from USA-39 CHF shipping costs. That's without Swiss import taxes!

Re: International Import duties

Rules for import taxes are completely equal no matter from who or where you buy, as for the shipping costs there are several reasons which combined make it look like shipping costs do not exist.

WTO has a list of poor countries whom get lower rates for international shipping.
Chinese government subsidies the postal services to stimulate export.
Chinese senders buy package services in bulk.
You do not need to have a business to be able to buy package services in bulk.
You often get the cheapest slow service without tracking ability, do you want faster or tracking, than you pay more.

The little amount that is left for postage costs is included in the price so it looks like you are paying none.
