Roxyyyy. The best. Don't diss my Roxy. Although I been spending my summer in a DC swimwear, it's excellent, too. Boarder's Park closed, super cheap sales.

SUP party it is. Though we actually party on the water (not yoga on a board way, no), not under a tree watching the waves

We always ask the sellers to put a copy of the detailed invoice inside the parcel and remember that a customs label should be affixed. They don't always adhere. We have been contacted about incoming parcels and asked to provide paperwork, which we have done. So this has caused a couple of days of delay. But I must say we have never ever been charged for this inspection/clearance.
I assumed that it is just their job (as customs officials). After all, when they stop and inspect you at the border and you are under the limit, you are not charged for that inspection/clearance. Why should it be any different for a parcel? If they are doing that to people, it seems a bit unfair. Have you been charged for this? And if so when and how much was it?

My order is from a big well known (at least in the fitness world) company - Rogue. They are very international, previous packages quickly received, docs attached etc.. I suspect this one got stuck over the 1st Aug holiday, it's now in a hole somewhere, I mean tomorrow is day 11.. If they were gonna release it or charge it surely they'd have done so.

Swiss Post applies the surcharge:

if a consignment cannot clear customs due to missing, unreliable or incomplete customs documents and must therefore be opened
if, due to missing or incomplete customs documents or due to the contents, a consignment must be placed in storage until the missing information is received or until the recipient or customs authorities take the decision concerning customs clearance.
The inspection, value declaration and storage surcharge is only applied once per consignment and totals CHF 13.00 excl. VAT. No supplement will be charged for duty-free consignments.

I still think there is no charge for consignments under CHF 65 in value. This may explain why we have never ever been charged (in more than 15 years of importing) since our parcels are nearly always up to around 40 or 45. Depending on the exchange rate we never go much higher as we don't want them to quibble about the 'free' postage and estimate a charge for postage thereby bringing us over the CHF 65.

Pingwing - this no charge thing is a myth. If you read the fine print you can get charged VAT on anything above 5 CHF IIRC. A fact that courier companies will exploit regularly.

The 5 francs is only the tax. The postal limit to send goods into Switzerland tax free is 65 francs. All shipments with a value of under 65 francs are tax and fee-free now.
