Fishing in Zugersee or waters nearby

Good day folks.

Using google translate I understand that you can fish in some parts of Zugersee without licence (without taking the course) - using float, weight, barbless hook and live bait.

Can anyone who has done this or knows more about it confirm this.

Recommendations welcome for fishing in Zugersee or waters nearby with day permit.

(my research shows the course to get fishing licence is not available in English)

Correct?

Re: Fishing in Zugersee or waters nearby

From what I understand, if you fish in the blue areas from the shore, with a simple hook and swimmer, live bait such as a worm but no bait fish, nothing "elaborate" like a spoon, you need neither license (test) nor a (day or longer) patent for the Zugersee. See the blue shores on the Zugerseekarte on this page. Be sure to respect the regulations by species, and daytime limits.

To get reliable advice, you may want to ask the Hafenmeister at the Bootshafen in Zug.

I'm not sure they want anybody to do hobby-fishing right now, given the problems with loads of fish dying.
They might need the rest to secure procreation?

You are correct. Some fishing activities do not require training and certification. Please visit the Direktion des Innern Amt fur Wald und Wild. They are at Aegeristrasse 56, 6300 Zug. On the first floor. Last year I was there, the lady was super helpful. If you haven't got the licence yet, you can get it there /it will come by post a day or two later/ and you will also get the map of the Zugersee with fishing boundaries clearly marked. You will also get a leaflet in English with vital information. You can rent a motor boat actually and go off fishing offshore, but within the boundaries.
By end of October /as far as i remember/ you will need to post your report on caught fish. It is compulsory. You will get the form with all other info.
I have attached a couple of images to give you an idea, i hope images are there...

I give up... Images are too big and it's just too much fluffing with them. Sorry...

Deep lakes like the Zugersee should provide plenty of cool water for the fish to hide in.
Rivers are a bit more critical.
Fishing from the shore right now though... don't expect too much
