Pumice power and rottenstone. Where to buy around Zürich?

Hey all,

I can’t locate pumice powder of any kind let alone rottenstone. Rubbing out a lacquer finish and need it to achieve the correct level of gloss.

Places that don’t carry:
OBI
Jumbo
Bau und Hobby

Thanks in advance!

Try http://www.rundumholz.ch/index.php

If she doesn't have it, then she'll know where you can get it.

Hey, I don't mind sending you some pumice powder out of my own stock for free, if you need just a small amount (like a spoonful or so). I only use it myself very ocasionally for french polishing prep.

Personally I prefer steelwool lube for rubbing (Mohawk Finishing), didn't know you could actually use pumice to rub the finish.

Otherwise, you can just get it of eBay.

Couldn't get in contact with her. But good to have in the rolodex.

That is so generous of you. Thank you. However, I need quite a bit. The steel wool is a step I do, but the pumice is for achieving a mirrored gloss finish. Pumice powder is the last steps in the sanding. I have tried alternatives in the past but with no luck. Something special about the rock.

If I come across it in the city somewhere I will post on here. But until then eBay is the best option.

An alternative may be biolindo (notice the 1kg bags) if that kind of volume is in your range.

The company is Austrian even though they have a Swiss address, so your credit card may be charged from abroad, which may cost an additional charge by the CC company (1-2% usually).
