Old Computer Books

Hi

I have a ton of old computer, IT type books, java programming, Firewall training etc.
Is there a place that I can donate them or should I just dump them

Re: Old Computer Books

Why don’t you out them on here? Someone will surely benefit from them otherwise take them to the Ökihof or lost them on Ricardo for CHF1.-

If they are out of date and the technology they cover has moved on significantly, then dump them with your regularly paper recycling.

My company as well as a lot of communes have some sort of book boxes where people bring books and take some. They have often by now explicit rules on "No IT books" on them as everyone has a ton of them around...

Re: Old Computer Books

I'm working on a projrct right now.

I have selected various IT books and management books with boring and generic sounding titles and have cut the spines off. I am gluing the spines to a wooden panel and using that to make a "secret" cabinet in my library where I can keep my booze.

Well, the rest as well... firewalls might have changed a bit, very few people use Smalltalk, the Perl books will be about some ancient versions, the "Internet Mail" one was written before we all called it email?
