Post Stamp issued by Liechtenstein

Can we use post stamps issued by Liechtenstein in Switzerland. (Not those jointly issued by both Liechtenstein and Switzerland)

Re: Post Stamp issued by Liechtenstein

Officially no, despite the rates being identical, but unofficially it may be delivered without them noticing and incurring no surcharge.

Liechtenstein Post is a separate entity. The validity of their stamps is also different to those of Switzerland.

If it something important I would not risk it. If it is a competition entry via postcard then you could try if only to get them used up.

If not you will have to go to Liechtenstein to post the stuff.

How many do you have?

I have about 50 francs worth of valid ones to use up and am hoping they do not declare them invalid at some point. I really ought to get down there to send a parcel or two with them!

Re: Post Stamp issued by Liechtenstein

Most stamps I got from Liechtenstein is for collections, so it is not so significant for me if I have to go there to use it.

It's just that I want to use some special stamps issued by them for some special occasions.

As mentioned, I asked SwissPost a few years ago. They told me no.

Also be aware that even when posting from Liechtenstein, not all stamps are still valid. Older ones can be declared invalid by Liechtenstein Post and thereafter are only for collection purposes.

To be perfectly safe I would use both Swiss and Liechtenstein stamps. And make sure to include a return address.

But the point is the Liechtenstein ones are only valid if posting from Liechtenstein and even then they must not be too old.

No reason why you can't put stickers on an envelope, in addition to the valid Swiss Postage. Probably best to avoid the upper right hand corner with the stickers ...
