Does Ebay now do packing and shipping for the vendors???

I bought some difficult to find construction plans on Ebay and instead of sending them in some kind of protected envelope the seller just stuffed then in a bog standard envelope and of course they arrived in tatters!!!

He now claims that he was not responsible for the packing and shipping that EBay did it..... I have a hard time believe that EBay have a team going around helping vendors to pack and ship their stuff....

Can anyone throw some light on this concept?

Always package your items carefully. Remember, you're responsible for ensuring the item arrives safely.

Did it come in an eBay branded envelope?

No? Double Bovinemanure. eBay would certainly use a branded envelope.

I've seen links for ebay seller services where you send them all your stuff and they sell it for you. In any case if the stuff is not properly packed it's not properly packed no matter who did it.

I bought something on eBay recently - and it was sent via Pitney Bowes, so i assume they handle some of the mailing. This was a boxed item, so a box within a box.

Pitney Bowes does lots of mailing......I think they used to make scales and mail meters.

Thanks for all the comments....

The thing about this genius is that he first claimed it was well packed, the it was the fault of the Swiss post, next the Royal Mail and now itís that he had no hand act or part in the shipping!

Iím waiting for him to tell me the dog packed the parcel
