Amazon.de Visa credit card from Switzerland?

Have someone ever applied for an Amazon.de Visa credit card using a virtual address in Germany (Weil am Rhein or Loerrach)?
I have been checking on it and I haven´t found any issue on it but I would like to know a bit more.
Thank you in advance.

I would have thought they need to see proof of residence - as otherwise anyone could get one. The German town hall issues this proof, so you would need to be resident to get that proof.

https://www.amazon.de/amazon-visa-ka...kreditkarte+de

You also need to be a Prime member.

AFAIK they do a credit check (Schufa) before you get a credit card in Germany . I´d assume that address is known (assuming this is one of the Packstations?) as non-residential.

You could always try to apply anyway from that address and then let us know if it works. The worst they can say is no!

Sure, and what will OP do when they ask him for proof of residence? Apart from that, I would think that OP won´t get a card without any history of living in Germany.

Get a prepaid card like Revolut, load it via transferwise or just load CHF on it and convert the CHF to EUR.

That's no true. I have a credit card and an EUR account from DKB - see dkb.de.

Along the border there are a lot of Sparkassen which are focused on Swiss residents and will happily open an account in EUR or give you a credit card. I know a lot of people using them.

Yes, but that with a Swiss address, not a fake German one

My point is they do the schufa check or skip it. The end result is that you get a credit card with a Swiss address. I don't understand why you would give a fake address in Germany and not the real one in Switzerland.

First of all we don't know that they will ask for proof of residence, I already suggested in a previous post that they might since residence is a requirement. Until the OP or someone else actually applies for this card and tells us what they ask for, we simply don't know.

My husband had a German credit card within days after taking up residence in Germany. He had not lived in Germany before, had therefore practically no credit history there and no income. So it is possible to get a credit card with residence and nothing more. I myself was really surprised when the card arrived and it stated that he had a credit limit. I had assumed it would come in a prepaid format, but not so. It seems to go on trust.

I think the point is in this case that this particular card requires residence. See link I posted.
