Well perhaps you are right and i should try and see the Funny side to this all, but being under so much pressure and uncertainty, i just dont see it. Atleast not at this moment. In response to how i found your forum, i searched google for English speakers in Zurich and it came up. I registered and posted the topic immidately. It would be my pleasure to keep you and any other intrested party up to date regarding my dispositon. My time here in the hostel is almost up and i need to go back to the salvation army place as sleeping there (on sleeping bags) is only permitted between 22.00hrs and 07.00hrs. Its still better than been on the streets. My luggages will be an issue, however, i am looking to convince the hostel to allow me to keep it in the locker rooms. Hopefully, they would oblige. There was also an offer of a flexibus ticket back home leaving tonight, that wuld have been the most ideal scenario but the person offering hasnt responded.

OP - Assuming you're legit, I wish you the best getting out of your predicament, and hope that this is a lesson you'll learn from. Having a positive attitude only gets you so far in life, and beyond that you need some common sense.

Side note - if you could stop messing with the HTML tags when you quote others it would be easier to read your replies.

Thank you for eveything and yes, ive come to learn this the hard way
Believe it or not, i think my folks or some other people dropped me when i was a kid cause even i suprise myself atimes with spontaeous decisions i make
I guess i saw this as a little adventure and convinced myself falsely that everything could and would be alright. Its Swizterland, high quality of life, loads of jobs, ill learn the language on the fly, ill earn money as i go..etc Seemed like a good idea at the time. anyway, gotta go. cheers folks.

Inspiring thread.

Next month I think I might go to my dream country up North, and see if people will sponsor me there. But will need a place for the colder months, so better set-up a fund there as well.

You're about 2 years too late to try it in Sweden, thanks to Miss Merkel

Wow, you're literally broke and you have doubts what to do with your luggage? Take your documents and only a very little things that fit into a handy backpack, a pen and a few pages to write on directions of your hitchhike. In a few days at most you'll be back in London.

You can also try to stay at Herberge zur Heimat, which is run by the evangelic-reformed church. They might be able to help you.

Uhm, have read your post a few times. Are you saying that you will book and pay for the trip, and that they should pass this on to others who might need it?

Yes, I will book the trip and they don't need to worry about paying me back. Whenever they are able to, they can pass it on by helping someone who might need help.

Just a quick update, Christo was happy for the ticket to be booked rather than wanting cash and he was happy to meet in person to receive the tickets... maybe it is still a scam... hey ho I am a believer in Karma so will leave it to that...

I imagine even if it is a scam it wasn't a life changing amount of money. I would be happy to send something to help with the cost of the ticket but it would have to be to a UK bank account as I'm no longer in CH.

Thank you for the offer but NOTHING else is nessesary. I have gotten a coach ticket back home from Silvestre (may God bless him abudantly) and when back in the UK, im sorted. Thank you for the offer anyway. It pleases me to know compassion and simple human empathy is alive and well.
This was a hard lesson to learn and very humbling, better late than never i assume. Once again, thank you.

These are my personal views but I am dead against giving/sending cash. I will get what is needed, pain in the backside at times but at least I know the cash is going towards whatever was asked for. If the recipient on sells it then that is their choice... Maybe something to do with how I was brought up / the cynic in me.

Once again, Thank you for the coach ticket. I have recieved it. Unfortunately i seem to have reached the limit in the private messages and i cant reply, hence i need to reply here. I was really looking forward to seeing you and extending my gratitude in person and also so you can put a face behind the man.

You might still meet me, I could be on the coach with you and sat right next to you!

Thank you all for sending kind messages and reps... that wasn't the reason for helping... in fact I was probably doing it for selfish reasons as I didnt' want to hear my mother's voice in my head saying I didn't do right ... particularly as raised with the belief that we have all needed / will need a helping hand - monetary or non-monetary - from someone at some point in life... plus I know I have been fortunate enough to be a recipient plenty of times be it from family, friends or strangers... I am just paying it forward!!

Re: Help\Advise

I'd recommend to do some couch surfing for a while and also try airbnb. I myself stayed at airbnb for a while during the first weeks here, I paying but the owners had a huge home and every once in a while I had couchsurfers staying over for free. Some may even let you stay on their lawn in a tent
