They bloom before the leaves sprout, that's typical for Forsythia.

Btw, is "sprout" correct here? Or is it only used for seedlings?

The picture in the OP is not very sharp, but I would have said that the bush with yellow blossom in the extreme top left hand corner is likely to be a Eucalyptus Macrandra. These provide an important habitat for Kookaburras. Where was the picture taken ?

Thanks. Actually no. Its the same plant as all the others in the pic-Forsythia. I doubt whether there are any eucalyptus trees in Zurich
