Removable Wallpaper

Has anybody come across a shop that sells removable wallpaper in Switzerland?

Re: Removable Wallpaper

Oh god. What is wrong with this question? I have googled countless times and can't find a concrete answer. I am hoping someone has some wisdom they can impart based on a positive experience they had in reality.

I'm sorry, my comment wasn't fair. It's just that in my experience all wallpaper is removable, eventually. I assume you mean something specific. I can't help. I hope someone comes along who can.

Re: Removable Wallpaper

There is special wallpaper that sticks on like a sticker, can be removed easily and is intended to be temporary. Normal wallpaper goes on with glue and is difficult to get off. But yes, technically speaking, I guess that paper is removable too.

Can you post the link, where you did find it? (Abroad).

In Switzerland I did not find it (did not google for hours though ), there are some on amazon.de.

I also noticed that it's photos that are available but I did not see any plain wall-paper or "with flowers" or what ever people want, this style.

Look for Tapete (wallpaper) "ablösbar".
You could also visit a professional shop and ask for it (print out the "foreign" product you found.

Last but not least: I would not completely trust in stainfree removal. But I'm sure it's easier than the standard one.

Thanks Curley, appreciate the help.
There's all kinds of it on Etsy, it's just crazy expensive.

https://www.etsy.com/search?q=remove...iscounted=true

It's also on wayfair.co.uk but they don't appear to deliver to Switzerland.

Will keep looking, thanks again!

This British company deliver to Switzerland, but it costs a fortune https://www.chasingpaper.com/

Just google 'Selbstklebende Tapete .ch' for Swiss companies that stock self-adhesive wallpaper.

Crazy expensive? If I compare Etsy and wayfair just quickly, I don't see all that much difference (except if you want an artificial library ) The pound is at Fr. 1.30 at the moment, internet tells me.

Nope, "selbstklebende Tapete" is not what OP is looking for. With that you save putting the paste on the wall but it is not the simple removable type.

Re: Removable Wallpaper

I guess it depends why you would want to remove the wallpaper in future.

If it is a rental appartment and you don't want to pay for redecoarting when you leave, as others have said, even removable wallpaper is likely to leave some stains so you would probably have some damage anyway, and so will have to have that talk with your landlord anyway.

Many Swiss appartments are wallpapered with what I think they call Rauhfasertepete, that is regular but unprinted wallpaper with woodchips and coarse fibers embedded in it to create a bumpy texture they then paint over. This stuff doesn't last for ever and typically will have to be replaced every 20 years or so. So if that is approaching the end of its life, then maybe there is no point in trying to protect it from further damage. If it's new, maybe its just cheaper to budget for replacing it and take any damage you may cause as it comes.

Re: Removable Wallpaper

Yes you're all correct - it seems that this exercise is crazy expensive no matter how you slice it. 50CHF for a sample is insane.

If anyone is interested, I found this company in Italy that seems to be a bit more reasonable. https://www.wallpapersforbeginners.com/?page=1

I also found a few nice wallpapers at Hornbach that can be ordered but they're not "removable".

Thanks for your help!

Re: Removable Wallpaper

what I put on one wall is "3D brick wall paper". I bought it from aliexpress.
it is removable, I have changed the position of it.
so, it depends what kind of a design you want.
I love for that kind of things aliexpress

@AmandaCanada-- how did this end up working out for you? Have you tried to remove it yet?

I am moving into a new spot and looking to create an accent wall and really like what 'wallpaper4beginners' has to offer and would love to hear about your experience if you ordered with them-- let me know!

Re: Removable Wallpaper

A few months ago, I came across a DIY video where a woman had taken normal wallpaper and attached it to her closet walls using double-sided tape. It actually looked quite nice. So as an experiment, I tried doing that on a small wall at the end of our hallway (focal wall), using the double-sided tape that is used for sticking a rug to the floor. I chose that type of tape because it can be easily removed. It turned out quite well, actually. And I like that I can easily remove it (or should be able to) if we ever move out of our apartment.

You can buy a glue spray that makes paper stick and come loose like a post-it

Re: Removable Wallpaper

I think you mean spray mount? We used to use it all the time for exhibition posters when I worked in a gallery.
