Ordering from Amazon : lots of gift cards

Anyone have tips on what is best to order on Amazon? We have 300 USD in gift cards to Amazon and I'm struggling to think of what to do with it. I could definitely spend that much on books (the only thing that seems to ship easily) but that makes no sense as ultimately we're moving back and they'd end up left behind or causing us a pain. We have a dog but it seems the majority of pet supplies aren't easily shipped to Switzerland (and, quite honestly, the best stuff isn't on Amazon anyway).

The other option of course is that I do a trade with a family member living in the US...though I do love using gift cards

Posh cosmetics / toiletries? That way you can use them all up before you return to the US.

As far as I know it is impossible to have anything shipped to Switzerland using the US amazon store now.
You would have to have your purchases shipped to one of the packet shops over the border in France or Germany.

I order stuff on Amazon US and send to family. Then I pick up there and bring back if it's for me, or give as gifts. Are you not back there very often? AFAIK gift cards don't expire on Amazon.

Re: Ordering from Amazon : lots of gift cards

Amazon gift cards seem to last about 10 years, (or at least the UK ones do)

But they are very useful for buying other thing that can still be useful here.

Mine usually go towards the Xbox/PSN subscriptions/credit to give as gifts for those who need it. Or towards whatever the latest book I fancy reading on the Kindle/phone is.

This is brilliant, thank you. Weíre not planning on going back anytime soon (since a move back is probably happening in two years or so) but it hasnít occurred to me that they donít expire!
