The banks will require a Strafregisterauzug (criminal record register extract) and Betreibungsregisterauszug (debt register).
If there is an issue on either, whether or not the person gets hired will depend on the nature of the issue, and the willingness of the hirer to take a risk that the employee does not reoffend or do something naughty at the place of work. In the case of the banks they will also be concerned with potential regulatory and reputational risks.
Trying to hide anything is a bad idea. The banks do regular re-vetting of staff, particularly if they work in sensitive areas with access to customer data etc.
