It's difficult to see from the photo but I think it's a young Buddleia alternifolia.

We've had this one on the forum before if I'm right.

Unlike normal Buddleias, they are not prolific spreaders and will not set seed everywhere.

Thanks. That seems to be it. Seems like it only blooms in June/July. Pity. Looking for something that blooms more the whole summer.

Probably better to get some sort of annual that continuously produces new flowers and replace the plant each year.

Zinnias can be a bit gaudy but would do the trick.
