Rolex: independent servicing

When servicing or repairing any of my watches I can literally drop them off at the authorized dealer and they arrange everything. I enquired about my wife’s 1956 Rolex and was told that due to the age they would not send it to Rolex and I would have to take it there myself. Not so convenient from Zug!

Does anyone know a good independent service\restoration centers in Zug, Zurich, Lucerne or anywhere closer than Geneva?

I dropped mine off at the Rolex dealer in Zurich, they sent it to Rolex, there is an independent watch dealer right at the end of zug high street towards the casino

Re: Rolex: independent servicing

That's strange. I too have an old Rolex (c.1972) and never had a problem with it being serviced by an authorised dealer. Maybe they can't be bothered, or there's not enough in it for them??

I'd tell them that you'll find a new dealer for the future or perhaps send it to Rolex direct by insured, registered post. Call them first though.

Can‘t you just post it to Rolex?!

Re: Rolex: independent servicing

Or use an independent watch maker and repairer with decades of training and experience who will do a much better job:

Peter is based in Kent- but is the best you can get anywhere, trained at Wostep in 1971 and a Rolex specialist. As he often comes to visit, via Geneva - pick up and return is easily arranged:
