| | Any hairdressers available during this Corona shutdown in Zurich region?
Hi all,
I am aware the hairdressers in Switzerland have been shut down until late April. I was wondering if there are any hairdressers out there who can help with a short back and sides?
If yes, please PM with your experience and cost?
Thanks!

They're going to need a long pair of scissors to keep two metres distance.
Now is that time that you can see what you would look like if you let your hair grow long.
It's the 60s again!

Youtube can be a great place to learn DIY haircutting, e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz0uM2t5-dQ | This user would like to thank Mullhollander for this useful post:

Go and explore the offering of hair cutters available from Digitec.

I really don't understand all this hostility, we're all learning and sharing info during these shitty times.
The OP asked a perfectly innocent question which may not be so obvious e.g.in Australia hairdressers are allowed to be open with appropriate distancing.

I believe we acted that way because it does seem like OP is simply looking for a workaround to getting his hair cut, while neglecting the rules imposed/suggested by authorities. We're all trying to get back to our normal lives and it doesn't help if there's a Phillip in every village who thinks that those rules don't apply to him.
But you are as always, the voice of reason and we may have over-reacted.

As I understand the rules, hairdressers are eligible to receive compensation from the government while not being allowed to work (80% like RAV?). Thus if they accept government money and work anyway, they could get into a heap of trouble.

Bummer OP... I have become quite adept with the shears for my OH. I would offer my services (I actually enjoy trimming my husbands head. - sad I know!); but given the lockdown, not an option for you. Maybe order a pair of shears through Fust or Galaxis and have a go yourself? It will take practice/time but it may be your only option given the lockdown. Or just sport longer hair for the time being. Many are in your shoes! | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

I do understand if the OP needs to look well groomed. Shorter hair is very hard to manage when it starts to get too long.
My other half has ordered a Philips product from Galaxus for me to trim his hair.
He has total confidence in my skills. Not sure if it is because I cut my doll's hair when I was little or because of my dog grooming skills.
We watched a video on YouTube where a professional stylist demonstrated how to use clippers. He made it look easy.
The good news is hair grows. | The following 2 users would like to thank Mrs. Doolittle for this useful post:

I have been doing my own hair with a hair/beard cutter for like 25 years. If you keep your hair in the 2mm region, you cannot get it wrong at all, it's dead easy. The longer you go, though, the more practise it takes to get it right.
Been doing dog grooming for a long time as well, but for some odd reason, my wife won't let me cut her hair, even though I think, I am totally qualified; maybe she just doesn't want to end up being too beautiful...

Just buzz it yourself - Number 3 or 4 guard (around 10mm) for something like the picture of Mr. Pitt - have another person your close with clean up around the ears and backside.
Did this about a week ago, use less shampoo and water in the shower too. |

I can imagine quite a lot of guys started to neglect their normal routines, like shaving. How many of you are starting to grow beards by accident, or design?
