Start an E-Commerce in Switzerland

Hello Community!

I would like to start my online shop. The goal is to sell my artworks (Photos and illustrations) to a wider audience.

I am looking for an e-commerce that is easy to use, has a professional structure and offers numerous payment methods. The best would be, if the buyer could change the currencies between € and CHF. If the maintenance costs are not too high, it is of course an advantage.

Which e-commerce would you recommend me? I've been researching for a long and Shopify seems to me to be the best solution (so far) but it is a problem, that the payments can not be made in CHF.

What do you think? What are your experiences with e-commerce?

Best regards and many thanks!

A.D.

I use one.com. They're a danish company but have their pages in many languages and you can charge in CHF. I take paypal and stripe (for all credit cards). The only slight problem is that they don't yet accept Post cards.

Ok, thanks. It seams I should have a website, before I can start with my E-Shop by one.com. right?

There's a website builder built into it. The webshop option is 8 CHF/month but you can start a free trial for fourteen days and build your website using their tools.

As Tom say's, yes you need a web site but they have some very simple templates to get started with straight away. I built my web site very quickly with it then added the web shop, it works really easily for me (I'm not an IT guy at all!)

You could look at wix.com. They have an online shop app/module you can add. Not sure about the currency provisions though. Software wise it’s manageable for one person to work with and get good results.

The templates are for the web site. The webshop adds on to the web site, and there you can choose text colours, how many products per line etc
