Equivalent of Target (US) or Wilko (UK) in Basel

Hi all,

I am trying to find a shop in Basel which has a bit of everything, like Wilko if you are from the UK, or Target (I think) if from the US. Does that exist in Basel?

Thanks,

Chaz

I would say no. Sometimes coop Bau and Hobby has a small supermarket as well as diy, plants, crafts and home items
Maybe be more specific about what you want to buy

I'd say the closest thing I've found here is Migroas at MParc.

There is the Migros grocery store, Sport stuff, electronics and homewares upstairs. There are some other non-Migros branded stores in the building as well, and across the parking lot is Obi for your Home Depot-type stuff and a nice garden center.

I actually don't have anything in particular in mind. I just remember needing anything (like a bowl) and being able to to go Wilko and grab that and many other things. Thanks for the recommendations though

Ok yeah, this same migros was my first thought too, it doesn't appear to have everything like you would at Wilko, but next best thing. Thought I would check in any case. Thank you!

Migros on teichgässlein (Clara way) has 4 floors, the upper of which are full of household type objects.

Once the borders reopen, Geant Casino just over the border in St Louis, France is the closest to Target. You can get everything there...reachable by tram too. I miss going there from when we lived in Basel.

Re: Equivalent of Target (US) or Wilko (UK) in Basel

Don't know where you are in Basel, but there's a good OTTO at Rebgasse in Kleinbasel (Clara) not far from the Migros that was mentioned. There's also a small Jumbo DIY on Clarastrasse which is good, as well as the usual DIY bits and pieces, lighting etc they sell some crafty bits and pieces.

There's a Radikal at Birsfelden (on the No 3 tramline), not that big but I find all sorts of things in there. OTTO / Radikal are good for bargains in toiletries, cleaning and laundry stuff and homeware, I got a 6 piece set of white porcelain crockery including cups and saucers for 19 francs in there. When we were starting out in Basel I also bought all my stuff like ironing board, clothes airer etc in OTTO as they were dirt cheap.
