UK callforwarding from Switzerland

Hi there,

I would like to get a UK number where only UK-business related contacts can call me on. I wont be sharing it with personal contacts, I wont be making any calls, etc.

I've got my Swiss number which I can use in the UK or anywhere else in the EU. It's only to recieve UK calls by providing UK business contacts with a UK number. It will also help me prevent UK busines contacts from ringing my Swiss number, if they do.

Does anyone know the cheapest way to do this? The frequency of the calls will be minimal so the idea is to pay the least amount of money per month.

I thought about giffgaff, lebara, lyca, etc. pay as you go but I can't seem to be able to find how much they charge for receiving calls in Switzerland from a UK number.

Thanks.

Re: UK callforwarding from Switzerland

I use GiffGaff. Had no problems with it. I have a dual-sim phone. I put on a fiver in credit every so often.

I can get you a SIM with a fiver credit if you want.

Re: UK callforwarding from Switzerland

Just checked their website and below is what I've found. Does that mean the charges are higher than the EU? Any ideas? (i.e. per minute of receiving calls from the UK?)

Which countries are included in "EU and selected destinations"?
Here is a list of countries where roaming is included as part of the giffgaff service

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden

Re: UK callforwarding from Switzerland

just found the information below which anwers my question. Yes, please a sim with a fiver will be perfect

What about Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey or Switzerland?

Visiting Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey or Switzerland will be charged at preferential rates: 15p/min, 5p/text and 20p/MB. However, receiving calls and texts is free.

Our posts just crossed. I'll order it, but it's probably best if I have it sent to an UK address and then have it forwarded to Switzerland. If you send me your address I'll get my mate to send it to you direct - it doesn't need to come to me first. Don't know how long it'll take though.
