Is there a way for the packets not to be let by the entrance? (when I am not at home)

Hi folks,

I am buying an expensive thing that I wouldn't like to be stolen.
I won't probably be at home and I would be gladly to the post office.
I asked at the post office and the woman told me about something in internet that I need to be registered in, but I can't understand the name.

Thanks

Register on Swiss Post website and you can manage your preferences under “My Consignments”.

If the package is sent by Post CH, you always get the notification mails with which you can control delivery.
Same for DHL.

Not sure for all the other delivery companies. It really depends where you order but with the Post website, you can only control Post deliveries.

Where exactly will the packets be delivered? In a small consignment that is usually by the post?

You could always ask the sender of this item to send it tracked/Signed for. Then they have to hand it to you in person.

From the website linked in the post you quoted:
Quote:
Here’s how it works
Receiving parcels
1 - Register free of charge for the PickPost service.
2 - In online shops with integrated PickPost, you can select the desired collection point during the check-out process, or enter the address of the service point offering the PickPost service and your user ID.
3 - Notifications about incoming parcels will be provided by e-mail or SMS.
4 - You can collect the parcel or registered letter with proof of notification (SMS or e-mail) and a valid ID at the service point offering the PickPost service. Where required, you must sign for the receipt of the consignment and pay any expenses.
Sounds like a central location where you go to pick up parcels, instead of the postie delivering to your door.

I have just done it. It's easy.
To confirm the adress they will send a notification with a code or something.

The only question is that I cannot find the option to choose post24 in the customer website after loging me in...... Perhaps there are more options when I confirm the address.

YES, it's that!

I found it in their website:

Quote:
Registration

To use PickPost, complete the free, one-off registration process in the Customer Center. You will then receive a letter with a confirmation code for your address within three days. After you have signed up, you will receive an e-mail with your personal User ID. You will need this ID to specify a service point offering the PickPost service as a recipient address. If you have already registered, add the “PickPost and My Post 24” option in the Customer Center under “Settings”. PickPost is active once you have received the confirmation by e-mail. To use SMS notifications, you require a mobile phone with a telephone number registered in Switzerland.

Not exactly. They will send you a message saying your package will be delivered the following day “By the end of the day”. And if they do not do what they promise, they will send you another message saying it will be delivered the next day, by the end of the day.

Bar-Stewards.

DHL allows you also to pick up. You can select that with a link via that mail.

Anyway, if you are a store you only use DHL when you hate your customers
