Thanks for letting me win. I just don't know why. Is it because a rhombus is a bit like a squashed square? But if it's squashable, shouldn't it be three dimensional? In which case, you win after all.
A quadrangle is a shape which has four corners.
A rectangle is a quadrangle where the angles of the corners are all 90°.
A rhombus is an equilateral quadrangle (a quadrangle where all sides have the same length).
A square is a rectangle whose side have all the same length. Or in oder words, a square is a equilateral quadrangle whose angles are 90°. Or in other words, a square is rhombus where the angles are 90°. It is a rectangular rhombus and a rhomboid rectangle at the same time.

In short: a square is a special case of a rhombus and a square is a special case of a rectangle. The only rectangle which is also a rhombus is the square.

Re: Green rhombus vs yellow

About 100 hiking trails (regional, national, international, or historical, etc) are marked with a green square. Some parts are marked by a green square only. AFAIK these are the only green signs used in CH in connection with hiking trails.

If you turn that square by 45°, as if only one of the four nails/screws holding it was remaining, you get something in green resembling the yellow Wanderweg rhombus.

Quadrat, silly.

(Picturing a rat on a tiny green quad) But maybe it was a different kind of journey which was being undertaken?

Still no idea. But follow the arrow, you might find out?

You could also ask the "Forstamt" or even the "Gemeinde".

It is near the Solothunischer Regio trail, but these are clearly marked with metal posts/arrows.
It is also part f the Interregio Wanderweg/Le sentier Interregio...
https://www.schwarzwaldverein.de/weg...wanderweg.html
https://www.baselland-tourismus.ch/suche/Wanderwege

But that would be a yellow or red rhombus.

Here we have it: It is the Grenz-Kultur-Weg.
http://www.grenz-kultur-weg.ch/seite22.html
So I was correct, a thematic inspired hike.

(Could have been answered weeks ago, if you just had said were it was Or just the fact that it was near the French border )
