old furniture disposal

Hi people,

Hope you are having a good summer... I am trying to get rid of some furniture and the potential new renter just "changed his mind" and does not want them now... I heard that you will be charged for disposing them at the dechetterie in Lausanne. Is this correct? If so could you tell/link me to how much it might cost? I found many useful threads here but non about lausanne or the costs.

Re: old furniture disposal

At your city's website you'll find a section about getting rid of trash, all info you need should be there.

In Zürich we have coupons for 300 kilo free per year, and above that it is something like 27,- per 100 kilo.

Costs vary by where you are, I just looked at the Lausanne site and whilst its not obvious it would seem you do not have to pay, translated:

"All bulky waste that households send to the recycling center is taken care of free of charge by the urban cleaning service. They should preferably be brought to a fixed recycling center in order to avoid congestion in mobile recycling centers."
