The Swiss Post

Hello there everyone,

I have sent some university documents to Geneva from Morocco on March 10th and they still haven't arrived yet... I asked the Swiss Post about this and told me it was still in Morocco. On the other side, I asked the Moroccan Postal office, and they said it was in Switzerland. Now, I got confused , and I was wondering if anyone in Geneva had the Swiss Post on their way or in their reach, they could perhaps check with them about this, they may say something they wouldn't have said to me? This would be a huge favor! I know it's a peculiar request, but it's urgent.

This is the tracking code: RR961734716MA

Thanks,

Re: The Swiss Post

I'm not sure what you're hoping a person can do for you. Your tracking code shows nothing on the Swiss Post website. The post may not be in Geneva, it may be in one of the sorting centers, I know the final destination is Geneva but that does not mean it's there.
Where is the tracking number from?

Why should it. It's hardly likely to be a Swiss Post tracking number is it?

OP: A search on various tracking website suggests the tracking hasn't yet been initiated in Morrocco.

Do you have a copy of the documents? Can you email them to the university and explain the posting problem (and at the same time post them again - a copy of course).

I guess if you've sent original documents and this is what the university require then you're a bit stuffed but again I would speak to the university.

These days tracking numbers for international parcels also work internationally (for the most part). However the post offices of different countries may chose to set up their websites to provide different levels of detail.

Re: The Swiss Post

Not sure if this helps, but this was my best attempt at tracking.

From similar situations - when this comes up, the package either got lost in transit, or is sitting in a middle warehouse somewhere.

Because normally when the Swiss Post (or any other foreign post) scans the number it will show up on its tracking website. The foreign destination tracking website also has often more information sooner.

With this in mind I tried the Swedish, Slovakian, Slovenian, and Swaziland post. Nothing there either. I would says lost in transit.

Or no details at all - like the Swiss Post site.

I got the tracking number from the receipt when I sent the package from here in Morocco, well I just thought somebody could check again with them, I guess, thanks anyhow

I appreciate all you guys' help
-------------
The tracking number is Moroccan.
I had the idea of resending the documents, but I was skeptical (they might not accept them), hence I contacted the university (UNIGE) if I could resend them again. They said that they wouldn't be taken into account since they wouldn't be sent in time
(postmarked not later than 7 days after they sent me an email on 10th of March 2020).
I don't know if I should contact them again and tell them it got lost in transit as you said..Because this package has taken wayyyy too much time...

Yeah it's a bummer they were originals, I could still manage to get some other originals and send them by express mail, I don't know if the university would accept

Re: The Swiss Post

Assume that your parcel has been destroyed.
Happened to me recently with a check that I sent to my bank for depo.
After about 2 months of not hearing a thing, I got a We R Sorry letter from USPS with less then a third of the remains inside. Fortunately I could get a new check reissued which I then resent in a fortified envelope. A practice that I now recommend.
