| | I need to break some glass... need a place to do it
I have a weird request.
I have an assignment where I need to break some glass.
I'm trying to find a place where I can do that.
Preferably I would do it against a cement / block wall.
And I can't find a place.
Details:
* I and my colleague would wear protective gear and smash a few glasses (and some table wear) against a wall
* We would then cleanup after ourselves and make it like no-one was even there.
* Location: Zurich
It's a pretty simple ask -- however I can't find the spot to do it.
Anyone have an idea where I can do this.

My kitchen floor works fine for me. I drop wine glasses all the time. | The following 10 users would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post:

As it seems you can't just use the glass containers at Maag recycling you would have to do that on private property. Your drive-way maybe? (Should give you an incentive to clean up well after).

Hardturmplatz? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ha...52!4d8.5046095
It's quite empty on weekends and late in the afternoon.
Maybe clean up a bit afterwards

The issue is the sound, I assume. I would advise against doing this out of doors anywhere in Switzerland, except perhaps with permission at an eco-centre. Why not put the glass into an old pillow case and use a hammer? The sound should be muffled.

Just put them in a strong plastic bag or a sealed cardboard box and throw them on the floor. Or is the throwing against a wall outside part of the deal?

If in Zurich City, do you have the option to wait until Labor Day? | The following 2 users would like to thank k_and_e for this useful post:

It's a science project.
I need to throw a few pieces of glass (dishes, glasses, vase) against a wall or ground and track the pieces.
A wall is best
The ground is 2nd best
I'll need throw about a dozen different size objects
And for good measure I might even use a hammer to see the trajectory of the pieces.

Can the person who set you this project not give you some advice on where to do it? Seems like a very odd request without giving guidance on where to do it without having the police show up half-way through?

If a rock is good enough to smash your stuff on, you might ask at a local gravel quarry (Kiesgrube), if you can use it on a weekend?

Why not go to your local abfallsammelstelle and ask them ?
Or... this cleaning up bit that you mention, would that also include the rest of my garage ? |
