I wouldn't be surprised at all if Trump lost a lot of votes due to his nomination of Barrett. I know a lot of Republicans in the US who are actually very pro-choice and will see her nomination as a threat to personal freedoms.

NY Times, Opinion: Democrats Shouldn’t Be So Certain About Abortion | Quote: | | | | It is not so much that Mr. Biden was out of step with the Democratic electorate, but that the 2020 Democratic candidates are out of step with American voters, even Democratic voters, on the issue of abortion. | | | | | | The following 2 users would like to thank yacek for this useful post: | |

But I think it might still be forcing some of them to confront the reality that, with four more years of him in office, their personal freedoms could be even more at risk. If anything, it should have at least pushed more women to the left.

| | Re: Rip rgb | Quote: | | | | | | | | | | That is very interesting, I'll admit to thinking it was one of the dividing issues between Republicans and Democrats. To see that there is far more of a crossover on the issue makes me wonder if there are other such false litmus tests in my head.
