Fust / Ricardo retruns/cancellation experiences?

So I know that I have an obligation to pay, and if I must then I will. I have no plans to do anything unreasonable. But I am hoping there is an alternative for my situation.

A few weeks ago I was looking at purchasing a certain television. I could only find it in a couple of places new and the price was ridiculous, but Fust had some display/return models on Ricardo. I put the minimum bid in, and nobody else bid. I was contacted by Fust and gave all my details. I guess it is on its way to my selected store now.

Today I've seen that the same TV is now available at mediamarkt for just 15% more than what I paid on Ricardo. I was already on the fence about purchasing a used OLED TV as there can be issues with burn-in on this technology, but now I'm really regretting it.

I'm wondering if I can ask to cancel the purchase. If they want to charge me 50chf for the trouble I'll accept that. Has anyone had an experience similar to this?

Re: Fust / Ricardo retruns/cancellation experiences?

For anyone that finds this post, I reached a satisfying conclusion.

I took some images on a USB stick with me to test the TV. A quick google search of "OLED test images" is all that's needed. There was no screen burn-in, artefacts visible, or dead pixels.

Following that I was able to use the service menu of the TV to look at the running hours of the TV. It showed less than 100 hours of usage, so for me this wasn't a big deal and I went ahead with the purchase.

FYI: It is recommended not to access the service menu as a customer. It is usually accessible via a somewhat complicated set of button combinations. If a setting is changed here that upsets the TV, it can void the warranty. Be careful!

My LG has "burn-in" (image retention). Apparently newer models shift the image from time to time to try to avoid it. Mine is "BBC NEWS" from having the news on all most of the day.
