| | Hemming Clips - Available in Switzerland?
I'm looking for hemming clips - longer stainless steel clips about 10 cm (4 inches or so), marked with cm or inch fraction measurements.
An example: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07...XQ0EDSD8&psc=1
They are all over Amazon (UK and DE)... but not available for delivery to Switzerland.
I can't find them from any of the usual Swiss sewing supply sources.
So fellow sewers, do any of you know where to find these either in Switzerland or deliverable (reasonably) to Switzerland?
Many thanks.

Interesting... I didn't even know that such a thing existed. Apparently, they're called "Saumklammern" in German.
Jim 2007 beat me to it... I was also going to suggest looking on ebay.ch. It looks like they have some there, such as these (shipping to CH from Germany): https://www.ebay.ch/itm/6-Saumklamme...4AAOSwPsBdh6iJ | This user would like to thank Pancakes for this useful post: | |

Thanks everyone!
These little thingamajigs are a godsend if you are doing curtains or anything with meters and meters of deep hems. Especially if using a sheer material where pins would leave marks.

Update:
Suddenly these clips are available on Amazon (DE) for shipping to Switzerland.
Unfortunately, the 'nicer' clips marked with both centimeters and inches still won't ship here, but as long as you are happy with inches, marked in quarters, these are now available.
These clips are not as nice as my old hemming clips, they are a lighter metal and a tad sharper-edged, but what is there available today that is still the quality of yesteryear?
These will do in a pinch.

I got them in plastic, they work well, are small. I also saw them in Manor. I am used to pre-stiching but clips save time on simple straight stuff. I got mine for 8 fr in Tchibo. Manor were the same, 2 sizes though.

For example: https://www.jurop.ch/katalog/Wonderc...SAAEgIwX_D_BwE
Or hemming clips, which are about 3.5 inches (7-8cm) long, for example: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07...924SBF9G&psc=1
This is the centimeter/inch version that I'd like to have but is not shippable here.
An example of the clips shippable here are: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07...3XDIZKC8&psc=1
Wonder Clips and the like are fairly easy to find here, but I hadn't seen any of the hemming clips in Switzerland. Our local Manor does not have them - but then, the sewing corner of the local Manor is a sad place with little stock. I'm guessing they are winding it down.
---
FYI for those making facemasks - Wonder Clips are a godsend, as you can lay out or work the fabric without pins - and pin holes.

I'm often told it's the place to look for oddments and whimseys, but I'm hesitant to create an account without knowing what I am getting into.

But it's pretty safe, i've been using for ever for bits and pieces.. One little gotcha is that everything has a separate shipping cost, even from the same vendor or buying multiple of the same thing .. So a bunch of those 1.- items can end up being expensive with 3-4chf shipping each.
I login with facebook and pay with PayPal.. Expect 3-6 weeks delivery .. Pre covid times it was 2-4 weeks.

I ordered a bunch of these clips a while ago: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001...7e254c4dnzvtkW
They are decent quality, but only come with labels in inches. Took about 3 weeks to ship.
If you are in a hurry, I am happy to lend you mine in the meantime. | Quote: | | | | | One little gotcha is that everything has a separate shipping cost, even from the same vendor or buying multiple of the same thing .. It usually amounts to about the same whether you buy the cheapest and pay for shipping or buy it a little more expensive with free shipping but for me it is easier to find the best deal filtering for free shipping items.

Very kind offer, Manny, thanks!
I've already ordered the clips from Amazon, so am covered for the moment - but I appreciate the offer.
Looks like I have the same brand as the Aliexpress listing. But my goodness, what a price difference!
(Is being 'Deutschlanded' a thing now? )

I've been looking for hemming clips and the type called Wonder Clip as well. I brought my sewing machine across from Scotland for doing basic things like shortening OHs trousers (costs a small fortune in Basel dry cleaning shops ) and have a watched a number of YouTube tutorials where people use these instead of pins, so I thought they'd be a useful thing to have in my workbox.

I had no idea Wonder Clips existed until I started watching Youtube videos a few months ago to try to remember how to sew. At first they seemed like an interesting curiosity, but not much else.
Well, now I am a convert. I use them exclusively for making masks. If I go back to more complex sewing or tailoring, though, I imagine I'll still need pins for laying out and some of the more fiddly sewing where clips are too bulky. But on the whole, I love Wonder Clips
Huge plus to Wonder Clips: I don't worry about dropped pins and curious dogs.

Got them at Tchibo for a few francs. Manor had them too and a double size ones in the same package. Maybe Manor will have them online - have a look. I saw mine cca 3mo ago in a small peripheral Manor.
I don't use your hemming clips, though can imagine people must like those. They do look great. I hem by pre-stitching, so I can gauge the length precisely and try the clothes on on me and others. I learned early enough that pairing lengths works 50/50, people always have differences in their own arms/legs/even boobs sizes. Straight and boring geometrical cuts I'd just clip with my wonder thingies, vite fait.
But prestitching and lotsa ironing while still prestitched is the old school way, I kinda like it so I keep it that way. If I see hemming clips, I'll try them.
