Timelapse of Building Site

Hi All,

My partner and I are in the process of building a house - I had the idea of filming it and creating a time lapse. Has anyone done this before? What type of camera/webcam did you use? What about storage/power etc?

I think the building process in Switzerland is absolutely fascinating and it would be interesting to document.

Thanks!

Re: Timelapse of Building Site

ask the construction company if they can do it, they might have ad hoc equipment such as this:

Re: Timelapse of Building Site

you can order a little camera from Raspberry Pi (digitec sells them and other shops too - Pi has gone mainstream these days), hook it up to your wi-fi, programme it to take images, save images and then you can put them together for a time-lapse presentation. we have had ours for 5 years stuck to a window - 15 min intervals. a film of seasons...

Not done this for 5 years, however we used a DSLR at the time, with constant power & in a waterproof box. Off loaded pictures at least weekly for security.

That is definitely the best solution.

I was going to suggest a Go-Pro, a 12V battery, a USB supply and wiring etc but an off-the-shelf battery-operated model designed specifically for the job for less than 150 CHF would be so much cheaper.
