| | Renting a Ladder
Does anyone know where I can rent a 12m ladder?
I want to put some LEDs up around the house (3 stories)... I've seen 10m ladders for sale at Landi, but was thinking renting may be smarter...

Maybe someone here has got one you can borrow. Live a bit too far, but we have lots of ladders of all sizes here.

Hi Spinal
Have a look at sharely.ch around your location. Daily prices are 2 .. 10 Chf's https://www.sharely.ch/search/?searc...ss=Z%C3%BCrich
Be careful when up on top of the ladder fixing the leds.

I would not do what you are thinking. 12m up is a long way even if you have worked at height before. I imagine your life is worth more than the few CHF you would save. We don't need any RIPs before XMAS.
I would talk to a company that does roof work to see if one of the employees wants some work at the end of the day for an hour or so. You would of course need to be ready with the lights and the system you want to use to fix things.
Depending on the type of roof you have, you might want to set up a system of lines/wires that hook onto the snow/ice stoppers that are about 50cm back from the edge of the roof. Other option is to find a type of clip that can clip onto the gutters.

Like most have said, 12m up in a normal ladder is something I would think twice about.
