Hi all,
Really confused and frustrated about this one.
Looking to send a laptop to Germany for a specialist repair (replacing a soldered on GPU).
However, they have informed me they cant accept packages from Swiss addresses, as they all get stopped at customs, and they cant make the long trip to collect from there.
They advice to use a german sender address. So I got a german PO box set up, but now the new swisspost electronic system does not allow you to specify non-swiss sender addresses.
As anyone else having this type of problem, and what's the solution?

As soon as it is possible, drive to Germany and ship it from there?
Wondering why a German address on a package sent from Switzerland would not be checked by Customs?

Yes, it seems they want you to *send* it from Germany to avoid German customs and they'll send it back to your German PO box.

It is not related to the return address on the package put where the package was actually posted. Just naïvely putting a German address on the package will not change that. Neither would a Swiss return address on a package posted from Germany cause any customs issue.

If it does get returned there will be customs issues, handling costs, and all the usual stuff.

I use Poste Restante at my local French PO- does it not exist in Germany.
