Li-Ion battery disposal in Zurich

I have a swollen lithium-ion battery from my cell phone and I want to dispose it safely. I live close to Zurich. I have not found a website that says "take your Li-Ion battery to X place" or similar. I know it cannot be disposed together with regular used batteries because of the high risk of fire it has.

Anybody knows?

Re: Li-Ion battery disposal in Zurich

- insulate the contacts
- place in a plastic bag
- hand it over to a phone dealer, or the personnel of a recycling point, or a seller of electric appliances or electronics, don't just deposit in a corner. It won't hurt to mention that it hasnt' been discharged.

Taken from inobat.ch, the organisation tasked by the competent federal agency with organising the collecting.

Re: Li-Ion battery disposal in Zurich

Hello,

A map of all the collecting points for batteries in Switzerland, Zürich comprised The risk is measured by battery weight, less than 5 kg you can leave it at almost any recycling point. More details of every collection point here: https://recycling-map.ch/en/map/?q/8000

As Urs Max mentioned, it's recommended to store it inside a plastic bag and then leave it in the battery container. Usually at stores like Jumbo, OBI, Bauhaus, Coop Do It, there are plastic bags next to the battery container.
