Both links are legit and from the same site.
That's what ssl certificates are for.
And using the browser which will warn you/not allow you to go directly to the page which has issues with the certs.

I'm accessing both from Germany, no VPN, and it's the same site I've been frequently using.

No clue which pop up you got, pity you didn't do a screenshot.
Maybe your computer has a virus which shows you pop ups on random sites?
No clue. I don't care about viruses for quite a long time (almost 20 years as linux user, security through obscurity, works perfectly).

It's good to be paranoid when it comes down to pop up windows, I teach my parents to be cautious as well.
However, it's also good to be able to step back and rethink and investigate, especially when several non new members tell you it's nothing dodgy.

You can also use services like this one for example:
(I've c/p the original link)
https://www.urlvoid.com/scan/test.de/

I hope you know that just because it looks like test.de it might not be ASCII written test.de but similarly looking letters from the whole utf-8 table
Such phishing attempts would be really good
However, when you do copy/paste in such website as the one above, they'll use what you gave them, so that's another layer of checking two flies with one smash

It's nice that UBS teaches folks to be observant and careful, however, having clear mind and investigate is even better than blindly follow warnings.

In short - next time you see something suspicious you might want to warn someone about - make a screenshot or take a photo.
Thanks a lot blacky for your info on locks. I am glad that there are people on on this forum who spends some time to teach me bike lock knowledge and teach the UBS genius IT security knowledge

I didn't expect the report to be perfect, it's just because it's the only legitimate source which rates this subject recently that I have found and I know nothing about bike locks and just need to choose one to buy. Basically I don't want to spend too much time on research and don't have the knowledge to make a wise decision myself. Your guide gives me the big picture but I still need to know which exact model to buy, so now with the report I will just buy the cheapest among the highest rating one. always easier when we can convert things to numbers for the decision making, even it may not be the best decision

The OP‘s request must rate high amongst bizarre and possibly naïve requests made to completely anonymous strangers on a public forum.

For that reason, I‘m out....
I can understand you. but in reality my request is not that bizarre. The website doesn't accept non-German banking card and that's the only cards I have and I don't know anyone in person who has a German banking card. The bizarre part is I have no clue why the website doesn't want to get money from non-German residents...

Do what you want. Give the OP (s) your credit card, email address and bank details as he (they) seem so desperate to purchase a German test report that they beg for money on EF on bike locks from a trusted site at the Price of 2.50, and see if I care about the outcome ( I won’t )
Your just letting yourself down.

Smart people learn from their mistakes.
Polite people apologize after making one.

The rest, the rest groans and get employment by UBS.

I won't speak to the OP's intent but this...

I always use a foreign IP over VPN when paying without problem.

It's not the IP address that matters. It's the card number. Digits 2-6 (BIN/IIN) identify the issuing bank and are thus an easy way to discriminate by country.

I would wish my banker to know this.

@neutralname:

I have this one and really can recommend it:
https://smile.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B005VMO738

Hm, was 10 eur less half a year ago.

It is finicky with the keyhole, you need to put key in the perfect position, but ability to wrap it around so many places is awesome. That one is the longer version and it really comes in handy. And holder is decent and I put it on the bottom of bottom tube.

In Croatia I used bullguard's U locks, but for Berlin they were less practical (plus I started using bicycle more, so I got lazy to carrry few kg of steel around).
And I really really don't want my bike to be stolen by random thief.

However, people in Berlin use 'dental floss' type of chains if they chain it at all, so yeah, anything decent is more than enough for protection from random thieves.

And my bike is outside only for when I'm shopping, with doctors and similar, not overnight, but could be several hours. During night it's in my flat. I'm also lazy and I usually chain just top tube and even around the trees.
In general - chain yours beside better looking / less secure bike, that's good practice

For overnight I'd definitely do 2 ulocks from different companies, and secure wheels as well and make it as complicated as possible.

I got an impression that CH is even less problematic than Berlin, so, stick to ulock (kryptonite, bullguard, abus to name a few) or abus bordo type, pick the most expensive you can afford and that should do it.

General rule of thumb is to have a lock that's worth at least 10% of bike price. I go for 20%

For ulock you want it to be double bolted I think it's the term - in short, that mechanism locks each side of U separately, that way they need to grind both sides to release the bike.
Plus the thicker the better (or even better, go with rectangle pipes, but not hollow).

Never small chains and those cables. I just hate when they sell those and there are also not cheap ones... uf

And always use the key one! Not the one with rolling discs with numbers.

That's about it, bike security 102

Haha, your last sentence is so funny even I don't have any particular problem with UBS employees. Have had my account there for almost 10 years and too lazy to change bank. Anyway I haven't been to the agnecy since several years and do everything via Ebanking.

I totally agree with your first 2 sentences though.

Thanks for asking man. Now life is almost perfect in my new place. Both the Verwaltung and the plumber, carpenter and building care-taker they work with are wonderful people, they can't be more different than my former ones in Geneva.

The only downside is it's an old building and I can hear a neighbor's clock ringing at every hour and that's the only reason which makes me to continue to wear earplug to sleep.

In places like SO there probably isnt the demand for housing to mess people around

Re: can anyone having a German bank card help me pay 2.5 Euros? Paypal may work too

My son recommended TiGr Mini Lightweight Titanium Bicycle Lock & Mounting Clip, Strong and Light Easy to Carry Bike Lock which I bought from Amazon.com in 2017. Amazon don't sell it anymore but Tigrlock do directly for $125. My son uses it for his expensive ebike in San Francisco. My lock is sitting in my storage shed in Valais because I haven't ridden my bike in years. Searching online (DuckDuckGo) for recommendations I see: "The TiGr® Lock survives a variety of violent attacks. The TiGr® Lock design and material properties of titanium present unique challenges to would-be thieves."

I got lost in the thread about rejected foreign payments. Every so often when I want to fill a foreign prescription I have to use a dodgy outfit that sells legit Romanian generics (I've checked) but wants to be paid in BTC or runs a credit card charge through China or S Korea. Some banks refuse, others call me first. I suppose I could telephone the refuseniks but I've just learned which (UK) debit card is the least hassle (SMS message to reply Y or N). I don't have a Swiss cc, just a postfinance card. The medicine is then mailed locally, registered post. I used to just drive to Italy where I know half a dozen pharmacies that will fill most any foreign prescription but the cost of the trip is more than the price charged by the dodgy guys and I can't travel due to COVID-19.
