Send laptop to EU

Hey folks!

I want to gift my old laptop to my friend in Estonia. Few years ago we could met somewhere in the middle (PL for example) and grab drinks as well Unfortunatelly it is a little bit difficult these days.

So I've started to consider sending laptop via post. Sending from CH means that my friend will have to pay taxes (since packages comes outside of EU). Maybe better option is to drive to DE and send from there? Any other recommendations?

Re: Send laptop to EU

What is the value?

If its old & you estimate the value below 150 EUR its tax free.

Or it is possible to apply a one-time customs duty rate of 2.5% per gift parcel by a private person. If the value of the parcel sent by a private person without a charge is more than 700 euros.

I didnt see anything special regarding the EU.
