You....what?

I thought mods have more important stuff to do than randomly checking rep messages, unless those messages were reported....or maybe you checked something else? They're kind of "private"...I thought.

Nah. Apparently mods can look at rep messages.

The mods take bullying behind the scenes very seriously.
Normal forum rules apply to rep messages, this was stated by the one of the departed mods & the rule has not changed since.

No need to actively look, they are shown on the persons profile page, if the person does not have many user messages on their page they can bee seen without even scrolling. multiple Red blobs are easy to spot.

I would be happy if they took the upfront bullying more....seriously!

But they’re only supposed to do it if the rep comments are reported, not just to randomly look on the off chance that an offence has been committed.
At least that is how I understood the explanation when it came up in the past.

Correct, I sometimes have checked before giving a poster rep myself if I have done so in the last couple of days as the spread it around block does not prevent mods giving the same person multiple rep even the same day

There are a couple of gangs that go against several posters, even some of the moderators. It’s been a problem for several years

You can give as many red blobs and green blobs per day as you want, FMF.
I know because once a mod has red rep quite a few posts of mine in a thread in the same day, if I recall correctly. :D We've settled our little dispute later on, all is forgotten. (it doesn't even count anymore)
So these are the job's perks, eh? :D
Kind of funny....so have fun! :)

What’s that supposed to mean? Other than being condescending.

I mean I think we all know that certain mods actively read them, but that’s not how it should be.

1 of the departed mods often read the rep I received he even complained about it in PM’s

And one of the existing mods read rep and banned someone, although it was reversed.

It was more like a general observation...

I strongly disagree, most people communicate differently in person. IME it's still rare, in ordinary direct communication, to be called racist, sexist, misandryst, or man and therefore part of the imaginary patriarchy and oppressor of them poor innocent wimmin (who purportedly can't stand up for themselves otherwise there'd be no oppression, even though they're claimed to be the same), etc.

We can be used as a generic personal pronoun to describe people in general.
Greenmount could equally have use one, you or they to express the same thing.

Mom was born in 1931, therefor she has the higher rights. She says life was Ok.

I could just as well keep on harping about them evil 13 Orte who not just suppressed, but pretty much enslaved, the population of what would become Thurgovia until Napoleon freed my ancestors.

Or maybe we should go back to ancient roman times. There's certainly more to be found the feminists could complain about.

Which is quite the point, she claims to speak for a good many. Just how has she been authorised, and by whom?

Does she? Where does she do that?
Using the generic personal pronoun ‘we’ in no way indicates that she thinks she speaks for other people.

We is 1st person plural, the speaker claims to speak for the group. She could have used a different phrasing, yet she didn't.

Btw it's quite ironic how she claims to speak for others while you now speak for her. It's as if she can't speak for herself.

Don't expect me to reply to you again on this, if GM doesn't stand for herself it's telling enough.

I suggest you go and look up ‘generic personal pronouns’.
We in this case refers to people in general.

I couldn’t care less whether you respond to me or not, I’m just informing you of the grammar.

I am not speaking for her at all, I wouldn’t be so presumption.

You haven’t answered my question though, where does she claim to speak for a good many?

Re: Deleting My Account

Except, when GM then says, "we or at least some of us" GM is narrowing her definition of "we" to no longer being generic, but instead, a group/gang on EF.

In any case, GM can clarify for herself... or not.

Not necessarily it depends on how one chooses to interpret it. Note I deliberately chose to use the generic pronoun ‘one’, even though I find it pretentious, to avoid any confusion.
It still reads as generic to me.

I’ll leave GM to clarify herself exactly what she meant.

Quoting another classic Urs Max anti-women post. Seems every now and then his ugly and aeemingly deep-rooted mysogynistic side is unleashed for everyone to enjoy.

You may be able to see Pachyderms rep messages, but casually and publicly revealing even just the gist of their overall content in order to gainsay them, when no other regular members can see them to verify what you say, can objectively be considered a somewhat petty abuse of your moderating privileges.

Nothing compared to what his predecessor did by revealing rep (or maybe PMs?) in order to shame/bully a member. That really was an abuse of privilege!

I for one was threatened with a ban for complaining to moderators about moderators. I know other members who were also intimidated.
