I started the "Request the reopening of the Trump post-presidency thread " in the hope of flushing out the mod who anonymously closed the Trump post-presidency thread.

So far the only credible reason for closing that thread seems to be the adoption of the cancel culture.

I can't say I've ever looked at that thread as I'm not the erstwhile president's biggest admirer, but why don't you just start a new thread on the same topic? If the thread you refer to is still there you can link to it in the explanatory initial post.

To be fair, anyone could have posted on that so the door to more variety was wide open.

I mean an other solution could be, each member gets their thread. "marton's The Hill on Trump", "bossy babies pictures on what she cooks in Austria" (), "Lib on KFC" who cares if he doesn't eat that stuff anymore, after all Trump is out too . And then there is the infamous club which could share the "we hate the mods" thread".

Myself if I want more variety and a thread is boring then I either try to pep it up or unsubscribe and subscribe to others, just sitting there and hoping for a change is not my style.
For information, unsubscribing is quite simple, people just have to open the Control Panel and then navigate to "List subscriptions" in the bottom left.
